Zohar, Korach 5:1
ויאמר משה אל אהרן קח את המחתה וגו'. רבי חייא פתח חמת מלך מלאכי מות ואיש חכם יכפרנה. כמה אית להו לבני נשא. לאסתמרא מחובייהו, ולנטרא עובדייהו, דהא בכמה זמנין עלמא אתדן, ובכל יומא ויומא עובדין במתקלא סלקין, ומשגיחין עלייהו לעילא, ואכתיבו קמיה. וכד עובדייהו דבני נשא, לא מתכשרן קמי מלכא, סליק רוגזא, ודינא אתער, הה"ד חמת מלך מלאכי מות, וע"ד בכל יומא ויומא בעי ב"נ לאזדהרא מחובוי.
«Moisés dijo a Aarón: Toma el incensario…». Rabí Jiyá abrió: «La ira del rey son mensajeros de muerte, pero el hombre sabio la apacigua». ¡Cuánto deben cuidarse los seres humanos de sus pecados y vigilar sus obras! En numerosos momentos el mundo es juzgado; cada día las obras ascienden a la balanza, son examinadas arriba y quedan escritas ante Él. Cuando las acciones humanas no resultan apropiadas ante el Rey, la ira asciende y el juicio despierta, como está escrito: «La ira del rey son mensajeros de muerte». Por ello el hombre debe guardarse cada día de sus pecados.
